Between movie theaters, VOD, Redbox, Netflix and the rest of the streaming platforms, a lot of content dropped this week. I went through and found some of the best options you can watch this weekend.
Belcourt
Essential Fellini

Belcourt: “One hundred and one years after his birth, Federico Fellini still stands apart as a giant of cinema. The Italian maestro is defined by his dualities: the sacred and the profane, the masculine and the feminine, the provincial and the urbane. He began his career working in the slice-of-life poetry of neorealism — and though he soon spun off on his own freewheeling creative axis, he never lost that grounding. Throughout his large and layered body of work, he continually evoked his dreams, memories and obsessions in increasingly grand productions teeming with carnivalesque imagery and flights of phantasmagoric surrealism — while still maintaining an earthy, embodied connection to humanity.”
Essential Fellini is a festival that the Belcourt is running from June 25 – July 15. For a list of showtimes click here.
In Theaters
F9
The latest installment in the Fast and the Furious franchise finally makes its way into theaters. Dom and the family are back, but this time with a big twist, Dom’s brother (yes, he has an unknown brother) Jakob (John Cena) has been hired to take him down. The wild ride continues — and I highly recommend checking it out in the loudest theater you can find.
Redbox
Nobody
The surprise hit of the spring is hitting Redbox this week. Bob Odenkirk takes his first action role and knocks it out of the ballpark. This movie surprised the heck out of me with an intriguing story, fun action and good acting.
Netflix
The Ice Road
IMDB: “After a remote diamond mine collapses in the far northern regions of Canada, an ice driver leads an impossible rescue mission over a frozen ocean to save the lives of trapped miners despite thawing waters and a threat they never see coming.”
Hulu
False Positive
IMDB: “As if getting pregnant weren’t complicated enough, Lucy sets out to uncover the unsettling truth about her fertility doctor.”
