“It reminds me of what it feels like to have your first hit song."

It’s been a year of successes for John Rich and his Redneck Riviera whiskey! We celebrated with him at his house, Mt. Richmore, right here in Nashville.

Rich invited friends, distributors some media to his gorgeous Music City home for a heck of a party. Before the festivities, the country singer opened up about the huge year he’s had with his own whiskey line.

“I had this vision that, man, America’s hardworking, hard playing people ought to be able to drink the good stuff,” he started. The whiskey exceeded both his and his distributors’ expectations.

Creating this whiskey was a totally new experience for Rich but, somehow, it still felt familiar.

“It reminds me of what it feels like to have your first hit song. That sounds funny but it really does feel like that because this was creativity. This was creating something that did not exist. This is the only one of those that’s out there… I remember back when they said ‘Big and Rich, oh that song ‘Save a Horse (Ride A Cowboy),’ that’ll never be on the radio… The next thing you know, ‘Save a Horse (Ride A Cowboy),’ is like our ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ at this point.”

Although he’s proud of the success and for having his whiskey in 41 states, he’s more proud to be helping Folds of Honor. With each bottle sold, they’re giving 10% of the profit to the organization. According to their website, Folds of Honor “provides educational scholarships to the children and spouses of our fallen and disabled service members while serving our nation.”

Rich is adding to his whiskey line for 2019. He’s adding a reserve version of his Redneck Riviera and it’s just a step up from the original. See him talk about the “badass” Granny that’s featured on his reserve bottle and so much more in the video above.
