Okay, this might be my favorite Joe Jonas song yet.
“Heart By Heart,” the latest single off his upcoming solo album Music For People Who Believe In Love (out May 23), is a total earworm in the best way. It’s bright, catchy, and emotionally layered. It’s everything I love in a good pop song. And now, we’ve got a stunning live version, thanks to Vevo’s Live from Vevo Studios series.
The stripped-down performance, filmed in one take at Vevo’s Los Angeles studio, puts Jonas center stage literally and emotionally. Dressed in all black alongside his band, he’s lit only by moody flashes of deep blue and gold, which makes the whole thing feel intimate and cinematic all at once. There’s no fancy camera work and no distractions.
“Heart By Heart” shows off a softer side of Jonas’ solo sound. With its layered acoustic guitar, shimmering keys, and that floaty, yearning vocal, it feels effortlessly cool and completely heartfelt. You can hear the fingerprints of co-writers like Lewis Capaldi and Oscar Holter, but it still feels uniquely Joe. It’s mature, introspective, and yes, totally replay-worthy.
This performance gives a glimpse into the emotional core of Music For People Who Believe In Love, and if the rest of the album is anything like this, we’re in for something special. It’s a whole new chapter for Joe Jonas, and honestly? I’m all in.
