Jinya Ramen Bar has officially opened its first Tennessee location in Capitol View, marking a big milestone for the fast-growing Japanese concept. Located at 415 11th Ave. North, the sleek new spot sits just blocks from Broadway, Bridgestone Arena, and the Ryman, making it an easy add-on to a downtown Nashville night out or pre-show dinner.
But beyond the expansion headlines, the real question is: Does it live up to the hype? After stopping in to try it ourselves, the answer is yes.
Jinya is known for its slow-simmered broths, which take hours to develop and are the foundation of the menu. We tried two different ramen bowls, and both delivered in a big way. The broths were deeply layered and rich without feeling too heavy, paired with springy noodles that held up from first bite to last. It’s the kind of ramen that feels indulgent but still balanced.
Outside the bowls, the small plates are also worth exploring.
The Spicy Tuna Rice was an instant standout: crispy rice topped with spicy tuna that brought both heat and texture. It’s shareable, but you might not want to. Trust me, I didn’t want to. We also tried the salmon roll, which was fresh, clean, and beautifully presented — a lighter contrast to the richness of the ramen and a solid starter option if you’re ordering for the table.
And then there’s the cocktails… The Lychee-tini was easily one of the most fun drinks we’ve had lately, topped with a lychee bubble that you get to burst yourself. Equal parts interactive and refreshing, it added a playful touch to the meal.
Design-wise, the space leans sleek and contemporary while still being comfortable and not stuffy. It works just as well for a casual lunch as it does for a downtown dinner meet-up. With Capitol View continuing to grow as a dining hub, Jinya feels like a natural fit for the neighborhood.
