Jessie James Decker‘s new book is out now and she’s giving fans a taste of it before they buy.
Decker’s new book, Just Jessie: My Guide to Love, Life, Family, and Food, dropped on Oct. 2 and is a well-rounded look at all things Jessie. In this book, she’s bringing fans inside her house, giving them a look at her family life and marriage. She discusses how she finds a balance in her busy life and how comfort food fits in. Just Jessie includes 15 recipes, including her mom’s chicken and sausage gumbo, with helpful instructions to make them Instagrammable.
Decker shared this recipe with ABC News and, according to their excerpt from the book, it is really special to her.
“Cajun food will always have a special place in my heart because it was my first love — well, first love of food,” she writes. “In Louisiana, where my mom was born and raised, you can get delicious po-boys at drive-thrus and fresh crawfish (when in season) anywhere… This recipe is straight from a cookbook my mama made for me when I got married to Eric. This page, covered in grease and oil, is by far the dirtiest page in the book because gumbo is one of my favorite meals to eat and to make.”
Head to ABC News to see the entire recipe. Just make sure you have some Tony Chachere’s on hand! Then get your own copy of Decker’s new book by clicking on the book cover below.
