Jes Marie just dropped the new music video for her song, “Party in the Sun.” In it, she transforms into a mermaid who finds her prince on land. The video will remind you of Disney’s The Little Mermaid with her donning a mermaid tail and pining after her human prince.
“I’m so excited to share the ‘Party in the Sun’ music video with you,” she says. “Since I was a child I’ve always loved mermaids and wished I could be like Ariel in The Little Mermaid. It was amazing working with director Joe Sabalo Jr to bring this vision to life.”
For the visual, she learned a few things.
“I had never swum with a mermaid tail before [or] opened my eyes underwater — none of those things! I learned how to do everything for this video. It was an amazing experience. I feel like making this video showed me that anything I want to be and do is possible and I want to inspire others to go after their dreams as well.”
That’s a big motivation for the Maryland native when it comes to her music. She wants to inspire people to chase their dreams, especially when it comes to females in country.
