Today (April 25) is International Sculpture Day. Originally, Cheekwood planned to celebrate with the debut of Chihuly at Cheekwood and the reopening of the newly renovated Ann & Monroe Carell Jr. Family Sculpture Trail. COVID-19 has changed their plans but Cheekwood isn’t letting that shut down their celebration.
Instead of celebrating in person with Nashvillians, Cheekwood is opening up their celebration online. They have a special message for Nashville, courtesy of Dr. Marin R. Sullivan. Sullivan is their curator of sculpture. In the short video, she talks about one of Cheekwood’s “most unique features,” their outdoor sculpture collection.

They’ve also featured a blog to keep Cheekwood fans near and far engaged. The new blog discusses the history of The Carrell Trail. That is available here.
Unfortunately, because of the Coronavirus, Cheekwood is closed until further notice. You can still support the beautiful organization in several ways. They have more information on that on their website.
