HQ Beercade (Headquarters Beercade) is back with a brand new pop-up. This time around, the bar is transforming into Dr. Seuss’ world and even giving back with some of their proceeds.
Seussville on 2nd opens Friday (Jan. 29) in hopes that adults will visit and forget their troubles by escaping into their favorite childhood stories. The installations were created by a set designed from Seussical the Musical. There are scenes from The Cat in the Hat and his life-size Whatchamajigger car and The Lorax (there’s also a surprise on the ceiling). You’ll also find a forest of Truffula Trees in the front lounge and Green Eggs & Ham atop the bar.
“I think everyone could use an escape from reality these days, and as Dr. Seuss himself said: ‘Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living.’ We’ve always believed in that sentiment at HQ, which is why we are excited for guests to experience our Seussville on 2nd pop-up,” shared HQ Beercade owner Brian Galati. “It has been a rough year and taking a journey through the fantasy world of Dr. Seuss is the perfect way to have a little fun while staying safe.”
In HQ Beercade fashion, there will also be specialty cocktails. HQ will donate 10% of select drinks sold to the Nashville Neighbors Fund, which was established in response to the Christmas Day bombing.
Seussville on 2nd will open on Jan. 29 and runs through early March (Dr. Seuss’ birthday is March 2). They’ll also be following COVID-19 protocols and according to an email that includes “tables at HQ Beercade are socially distanced, extra hand sanitizing and wash stations are available throughout the restaurant, all employees are masked and temperature checked and installations are regularly cleaned.” There is a $5 admission and, while walk-ins are welcome, if your party has 8 or more you should email firstname.lastname@example.org.
