On Tuesday night, a large crowd gathered at TPAC to hear the 2018 – 2019 season announcement. The lineup was an impressive one that garnered tons of applause from the audience — and ended with a huge announcement.
Lin-Manuel Miranda’s massive Broadway hit, “Hamilton,” was the night’s big surprise. The show will make its way to Nashville, but we have to wait. It isn’t set to come to Music City until the 2019 – 2020 season. The announcement came via a video message from Belmont University alumnus Chris Lee, who performed in the hit show on Broadway. Dates for the performance aren’t known yet but the best way to secure tickets is to purchase season tickets to the 2018 – 2019 season.
The “Hamilton” news wasn’t all the nonprofit shared on Tuesday night. They also announced all eight productions for the 2018 – 2019 season. “School of Rock,” “The Play That Goes Wrong” and “On Your Feet!” are only the beginning. “A Bronx Tale,” “Anastasia,” “Hello, Dolly,” “Fiddler on the Roof” and “Miss Saigon” are also on the bill for the forthcoming season.
Along with the new and contemporary hits, there are four Broadway special add-ons. “The Phantom of the Opera,” Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas,” “The Book of Mormon” and “Rock of Ages” are the extras we get in the new season.
Season and group tickets are available now by visiting TPAC’s website or by calling (615) 782-6560. See the full lineup of the 2018 – 2019 season below.
