Rising British duo Good Neighbours have officially announced their debut album Blue Sky Mentality, due out Sept. 26 via Capitol/Polydor. The announcement arrives alongside the release of their newest single, “Suburbs.”
Though it’s hard to believe this is their debut, the upcoming album follows the massive success of their breakout hit “Home,” which became the first platinum-certified single by an alternative band last year. The track earned platinum status in the U.S. and Australia, gold in New Zealand and the UK, and racked up more than 550 million streams globally. It also cracked the top 10 on U.S. Alternative radio and landed in the top 5 at AAA, quickly becoming one of the biggest debut singles of the year.
In “Suburbs,” Good Neighbours channel their small-town roots and the struggles of dreaming beyond the borders of familiarity. About the single, the band said: “suburbs is a message back to our younger selves. Coming from small towns outside of London, it was hard to dream big without getting shot down. This track is our anthem for breaking free from that mindset and chasing something bigger.”
With Blue Sky Mentality, the duo continues building on the momentum they’ve already created. Described as a collection of songs filled with explosive choruses, euphoric energy, and emotional resonance, the album reflects on connection, hope, and escapism. And it’s all delivered with the band’s signature warmth and wide-eyed optimism.
“Blue sky mentality has been our motto since day one. Our band began as a kind of light relief – a creative outlet to break from jobs that we couldn’t stand and some tough personal times. Over the last year, we ran with that feeling, writing our debut album on the road – in the back of tour buses, hotel rooms, and scattered corners of the world. That’s what ‘blue sky mentality’ means to us—finding light, friendship and a sense of escapism wherever you are,” the band shares.
Good Neighbours’ rise has been fueled by more than just chart success. Their music has found a home in TV shows and commercials worldwide, and their grassroots fanbase continues to grow, drawn in by the band’s authentic storytelling and electrifying live shows. In the last year alone, they’ve toured with the likes of Benson Boone, Mumford and Sons, The Lumineers, and Foster the People.
