The Global APRA Music Awards were held on Sunday (March 1) at Nashville’s Clementine Hall. O’Shea hosted the awards show that awards Nashville-based Australian songwriters, composers and music publishers achieving artistic excellence and commercial success.
The evening’s first award, Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year Nashville, was presented by Brian Cadd to country-pop duo, Seaforth. Next up was Overseas Recognition Award Nashville which was presented by songwriters Kylie Sackley and Lindsay Rimes. Rick Price took home that honor.
A special moment happened at the Nashville event when artist manager Gina Mendello gave the Distinguished Services Award Nashville to world-renowned guitarist and songwriter Tommy Emmanuel. Then, Chris DeStefano gave Morgan Evans the Outstanding International Achievement Award Nashville shortly after, thanks to his global success.
The evening’s final award was Songwriter of the Year Nashville, which was presented to Phil Barton by Liz Rose.
“It’s wonderful to celebrate the nominees, performers, presenters and our special honorees with the Nashville community, a community of songwriters,” APRA Chair Jenny Morris says of the event.
Congratulations to all of the Global APRA Music Awards winners in Nashville!
