George Strait Reveals Details for ‘Honky Tonk Time Machine’

George Strait recently announced Honky Tonk Time Machine and we’ve got all the details.

The King of Country is back and he’ll release his brand new album on March 29 via MCA Nashville. The record includes 12 original titles plus his version of the Johnny Paycheck classic, “Old Violin.” This will be his 30th career studio album!

Strait produced the album alongside Chuck Ainlay, wrote eight of the 13 tracks including “Sing One with Willie.” That song features Willie Nelson and was recently debuted at a Nashville show. Surprisingly, that was the first time the two legends have shared a stage.

“I’m really excited to have some new music coming out,” Strait says. “It’s been about two years since I’ve released a record. It was great writing with Bubba and Dean again and creating such a beautiful song with Bubba and Jeff Hyde. Also, it was a very special thing for me to be able to write and sing one with the legend, Willie Nelson. I hope everyone enjoys listening to Honky Tonk Time Machine as much as I enjoyed making it.” 

“God and Country Music” is the first taste fans get of the new album. The song was written by Luke Laird, Barry Dean and Lori McKenna and includes a very special vocal guest, Strait’s grandson, Harvey Strait.
