Between movie theaters, VOD, Redbox, Netflix and the rest of the streaming platforms, a lot of content dropped this week. I went through and found some of the best options you can watch this weekend.
Redbox
Silk Road
Nick Robinson stars as Ross Ulbricht who creates Silk Road, a website that is capable of selling drugs to anyone across the country without being traced. Everything is running smoothly until he comes across DEA Agent Rick Bowden (Jason Clarke) who is willing to risk it all to take him down.
Netflix
I Care A Lot
Netflix describes: “A court-appointed legal guardian defrauds her older clients and traps them under her care. But her latest mark comes with some unexpected baggage.”
Behind Her Eyes
Netflix describes: “A single mother enters a world of twisted mind games when she begins an affair with her psychiatrist boss while secretly befriending his mysterious wife.”
VOD
Supernova
Blecker Street describes: “Sam (Colin Firth) and Tusker (Stanley Tucci), partners of twenty years, are traveling across England in their old campervan visiting friends, family and places from their past. Following a life-changing diagnosis, their time together has become more important than ever until secret plans test their love like never before.”
Hulu
Nomadland
Frances McDormand gives one of the best performances of the year as Fern, as a modern-day Nomad who is trying to recover from the Great Recession. Nomadland was written and directed by Chloé Zhao based on the book of the same name. Check out my review.
Sonic the Hedgehog
The number one film of 2020 has finally landed on Hulu. The video-game-based movie is filled with nostalgia, action, laughs and with Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, everyone is sure to have a good time. Check out my review here.
