Exclusive EP Stream: Zoe Clark’s ‘Lovers Mark’

One word comes to mind when we listen to Nashville pop singer-songwriter Zoe Clark’s debut EP: honesty.

Clark’s Lovers Mark drops this Friday (April 17) but we have the exclusive premiere a little early. The six-track EP boasts delightfully effortless vocals and honest, emotional lyrics.

“My record, Lovers Mark, is about love and lust, heartbreak and heartache and the thoughts and emotions that go with it. My music is my diary, my truths, my experiences and a way for me to understand the thoughts and emotions in my own head,” she explains. “I have always connected to music that I related to and thought ‘this song was written just for me’ and I want to create that for others and I hope I can do that with my record.”

It’s impossible to listen to the songs on this album and not identify with at least one. The relatable record’s theme of love and loss, and everything in between, is perfectly summed up in the title.

“I titled my EP, Lovers Mark, off of a lyric in my third track, “Blame,” because it perfectly describes my entire EP. Love can be an amazing and unexplainable feeling but it can also leave you heartbroken and in pain; either way, you will be left with a Lovers Mark.”
