Matt Bailie is a contemporary country artist with an edge! He’s got a brand new song called “Whiskey Away,” that’s definitely an earworm. The track was written by Barrett Baber, Michael Wilkes and Colin Healy and we have the exclusive digital premiere of its music video. It has a surprise ending you might not expect!
As you watch the new visual, you may notice the familiar background. Bailie’s video was shot right here in Nashville at Alley Taps. Johnny Dwinell directed the video that has Bailie in a bar singing about how he’s “just one whiskey away” from approaching a blonde beauty. Things don’t quite go as expected though — and that was Bailie’s plan all along.
“I didn’t want to the aggressor in this video. There’s too many videos and songs where the guy tends to be cocky and less reserved and I believe there’s a respect factor in this video that I never quite got the courage to approach the girl,” Bailie says. “So she approached me instead. It’s kinda a twist on what you’d expect to happen.”
