Save the Music to Honor Maren Morris, Brittney Spencer + Ali Harnell

Save The Music is thrilled to announce Nashville’s 5th annual “Hometown to Hometown” event, which will take place on Tuesday, October 15th at City Winery Nashville. This year’s event will honor Ali Harnell, President of Live Nation Women, a fierce advocate of powering progress for women, and a Billboard Women in Music honoree and Billboard Nashville Power Player honoree. We will also recognize Brittney Spencer, the only country artist named in Rolling Stone’s list of 25 Artists to Watch, and Grammy-winning artist and powerhouse Maren Morris for their contributions to the music industry and their passion for music education. Co-hosted by CMT’s Leslie Fram and CMT’s “Next Women of Country” inductee, Angie K, the much-anticipated annual fundraiser will feature special acoustic performances from Americana, country and roots artists Spencer, Morris, Abbey Cone, Allison Russell (with Ruby Amanfu), Brandy Clark and Joy Oladokun, with appearances by Kellie Morris (mother of Maren Morris), Beverly Keel (Dean of MTSU’s College of Media and Entertainment and music activist), and more.
Longtime Save the Music advisor Harnell, who has produced tours for Morris, Brandi Carlile and icons such as Oprah Winfrey, has long been an industry leader in elevating female-led and -powered artists, tours and events. As an active fundraiser, she has helped raise tens of millions of dollars collectively for causes and nonprofits, producing large-scale benefit events annually.
Spencer has drawn acclaim for her 2024 debut album My Stupid Life, which features guest appearances from Morris, Jason Isbell and Grace Potter. She’s a longtime Save the Music supporter, having performed at the 2023 edition of Hometown to Hometown and at last year’s Music Saves L.A. event.
On the heels of her 2023 EP The Bridge, 17-time Grammy nominee Morris earlier this year released a new cover of the Billy Idol classic “Dancing With Myself.” She is being recognized not only for her industry achievements but for her music education advocacy.
All funds raised from this year’s “Hometown to Hometown” event will support music technology programs in under-resourced high schools in Nashville, Baltimore, and Dallas, which will impact the lives of thousands of students.
