Japanese Moon Viewing Festival at Cheekwood | Sept. 27

Mark your calendar for Cheekwood’s 12th annual Japanese Moon Viewing Festival on Sunday, Sept. 27, from 4–9 p.m. This enchanting celebration of Japanese art and culture will fill the gardens with traditional music, storytelling, food, and more.

Highlights include:

• Tea ceremony demonstrations and tastings
• Nashville Taiko and Shamisen Knoxville performances
• A traditional kimono fashion show
• New this year: a shakuhachi performance
• Mochi pounding and kamishibai storytelling
• Ikebana and bonsai displays
• Japanese calligraphy and other hands-on art activities

Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell is also expected to attend the 6 p.m. Welcome Ceremony and deliver remarks.
