Eric Church has some big news!
The country singer announced his first album in nearly three years on Thursday morning. Desperate Man is set for release on Oct. 5 and Church brought news straight to fans through a video message.
“Hey guys,” he starts. “It’s been a while; I just want to say I have missed you. I have good news. The album is done and we are back. It’s called Desperate Man and the first single is called ‘Desperate Man.'”
His Church Choir fan club are the first ones who get to hear the song through their login.
“Just like last time — just like Mr. Misunderstood — if you’re in the Church Choir, on Oct. 5 you’re going to get the album.”
Everyone else gets to hear the track July 13. The song was co-written by Church with Texas musician Ray Wylie Hubbard and Jay Joyce produced the song.
Unlike other artists, Church isn’t concerned with his first week numbers. He’s concerned with his record sales after time goes on. Because of that freedom in his thinking, he shows his fans appreciation by giving them the record as thanks for their loyalty. He did the same with Mr. Misunderstood back in 2015.
The 41-year-old ended the video with a sincere message to his fans. “I look forward to seeing you on the road. I’m very proud of this album. See you soon.”
