Ed Sheeran and his wife, Cherry Seaborn, are now parents. The “Shape of You” singer broke his social media hiatus to announce the exciting news on Instagram.
To make the announcement, he shared an adorable photo of staged baby socks with the big news in the caption. He started it off by saying “ello” to his fans, letting them know he had “personal news” to share.
He continued the post by writing, “Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter – Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran. We are completely in love with her. Both mum and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here.”
The Halifax native asked fans for privacy for both he and his wife during this time, opting to keep their baby girl’s face out of the public eye (at least for now). Judging by the end of his post, he’s not planning on coming back to social media, or music, anytime soon. “I’ll see you when it’s time to come back.”
