Ed Sheeran shared an Instagram post early Monday morning showing his right arm in a cast, saying he was injured in a bicycle accident.
In the photo, Sheeran’s right arm is in a white cast but that’s not all. His left arm also appears injured. The “Perfect” singer is wearing a dark blue sling that looks to be supporting his left wrist.
“Ive had a bit of a bicycle accident and Iām currently waiting on some medical advice, which may affect some of my upcoming shows,” he writes on Instagram. “Please stay tuned for further news. Ed x”
Although Sheeran is currently on a break from his big world tour, he still has several dates left. The 26-year-old is set to perform inĀ Taipei, Taiwan, on Oct. 22 and a few days later inĀ Osaka, Japan. The Australian portion of his tour is set to begin in March of next year.
The arm injuries are particularly devastating for an artist like Sheeran ā who plays solo. He performs his massive concerts with just his guitar and a loop pedal.
While fans anxiously await the news of his upcoming shows, they’re sending him well wishes on social media. “Get Well Soon, Ed. We Are All Thinking Of You!” one fan writes on the post.
