On Monday, Dierks Bentley invited press out to his new bar in Nashville. He discussed his Mountain High Tour, Dry January, “Woman Amen” and so much more. Our very own Hilary Billings was on hand to get the 411 from Bentley, Brothers Osborne and LANCO.
Just hours after releasing their silly video skit to announce the tour, they gathered together to discuss where the idea came from. “I’ve really only been a headliner at this level for since like 2014 so it hasn’t been that long, it still feels really fresh and new to me,” he humbly admitted before adding that they all spent several hours in the woods. “The fact that they would do that, and be happy to do it, says a lot… If you love it, it was my idea. If you hate it, it was Ryan Silver’s.”
Bentley raved about his supporting acts, Brothers Osborne and LANCO. He hopes to be a mentor of sorts to them even adding that he hopes they’ll talk about him the way he talks about Kenny Chesney. Brothers Osborne admitted it was an “easy fit” for them to be out with Bentley and LANCO just seem eager to learn all they can.

Although the tour is a big part of 2018 for Bentley, he’s also got new music on the way. The Mountain will come this year and creating it was a unique process for Bentley. He wrote and recorded it in the mountains of Telluride. He released a short audio clip with the album teaser but fans have finally gotten a taste of the record with its first single, “Woman Amen.”
When Bentley first heard “Woman Amen,” he knew he loved it. “I loved the message,” he says before admitting it’s personal to him because of his love for his wife. Through all the years, he becomes more grateful for her and more in love with her. The two are quite the team — they’re even tackling Dry January together. Bentley admitted it’s been a challenge since he just opened a bar and all but together they’re trying something new.
