In the premiere of 4D with Demi and across social media posts, Demi Lovato came out as non-binary. The pop star will now use they/them pronouns.
After explaining 4D, they then went on to tell fans about something “very personal.” “Over the past year and a half, I’ve been doing some healing and self reflective work and, through this work, I’ve had the realization that I identify as non-binary. With that said, I’ll officially be changing my pronouns to they/them. I feel that this best represents the fluidity I feel in my gender expression and allows me to feel most authentic and true to both the person I know I am and still am discovering.”
They go on to say that in this first episode they will explain exactly what this means and “what it may look like for other people.”
“I want to make it clear that I’m still learning and coming into myself. I don’t claim to be an expert or a spokesperson.”
