Fans have already heard two tracks from the forthcoming release. His most recent No. 1 hit, “If I Told You,” is featured on the album as is his newest single. “For the First Time” is Rucker’s newest and it’s a song he wrote with Derek George and Travis Hill.
Rucker teamed up with talented producer Ross Copperman for the album. Cooperman has also worked with Dierks Bentley, Brett Eldredge and Keith Urban. He’s an impressive producer and he was the perfect one to help Rucker bring his album vision to life.
“On top of being a genius with the equipment, Ross is so high-energy and funny; that kid is never not laughing,” Rucker told Billboard. “Every time we were in the studio we had a great band who had great ideas of their own, so it was the farthest thing from tedious, but just, let’s get in and do it. I think for the whole record we spent just three days tracking music.”
When Was the Last Time is now available for pre-order on his website. There are also multiple pre-order packages that include t-shirts, vinyl records and physical CDs.
