Craig Campbell has revealed the details of his 2018 celebrity cornhole tournament. Once again, the charity tournament will happen during CMA Music Festival.
Colorectal cancer awareness month was in March but Campbell wants to continue raising money to help fight the disease. Proceeds from his sixth annual event will benefit Fight CRC. Fight CRC is a nonprofit that works to increase awareness, education and research for this particular form of cancer. It’s an important cause because CRC is the second-leading cause of cancer deaths among adults in the U.S.
This cause is particularly near and dear to Campbell’s heart, who lost his father to the disease when he was just 11 years old. His dad was only 36. Altogether, the events have contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to Fight CRC. Last year’s event alone brought in more than $180K.
This year’s game happens on June 5 at City Winery with a star-studded dinner the following evening. Campbell hopes to raise even more money for Fight CRC this year.
“To say I’m excited about this year’s celebrity cornhole challenge would be a huge understatement,” Campbell says. “It’s hard to believe this is year six! We’re hoping to beat the $180,000 we raised last year, so we’re pulling out all the stops and will have a few returning celebrities and some rookies playing to help Fight CRC. Seeing all the fans come out in support, means the world to me!”
Celebrity guests will be announced soon (stay tuned to Nashville Noise for the big announcement) but guests in the past have included Lee Brice, Lindsay Ell, LOCASH, Jerrod Niemann and more. Fans who bid online will be selected to play against the celebrity guests.
