Cracking Art is the beautiful new art exhibition at Cheekwood through Sept. 2.
The large-scale art exhibition is a Milan-based collective made from 100% recycled plastics. Cracking Art was “born out of the intention to radically change the history of art by investigating the relationship between natural and artificial reality.” The vibrant animal forms are throughout the Cheekwood gardens and the restored mansion.
Cracking Art strives to create a message for viewers about the inevitable fading of the natural world into the synthetic world. They also hope to inspire the community, and beyond, to recycle.
This exhibition is at Cheekwood until Sept. 2. Cracking Art will also be part of the botanical gardens’ Thursday Night Out series this summer. For those evenings, they’ll remain open until 10 PM. Food trucks, craft cocktails, seasonal beer and wines, lawn games, music and more will also be available for visitors. Guests are even encouraged to bring their dogs for Thursday Night Out in August. Those nights are free to Cheekwood members with a half-price discount for non-members.
