Coronavirus: Red Phone Booth Nashville Reopens with Air Purification

"Safety for our guests is of the utmost importance to Red Phone Booth."

Nashville speakeasy, Red Phone Booth, is back. They’ve reopened their doors today (May 14) with air purification systems like the ones used in hospitals.

According to a recent release, Global Plasma Solutions installed Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization (NBPI) technology. The system “purifies the air by eliminating airborne particulates, odors and pathogens. During the cleaning process, the NPBI technology attacks and kills viruses, mold spores and bacteria. The ions steal away hydrogen from the pathogens, leaving them to die, and leaving you with clean and healthy indoor air. The GPS NPBI technology also reduces airborne particles (dust and pollen) through agglomeration. The ions attach to the airborne particles and are then subsequently attracted to one another, effectively increasing their mass and size. The air filtration technology easily captures the larger particles, increasing the capture efficiency of the Air Purifiers and HVAC system.”

This air filtration system is currently being used in hospitals like Boston Children’s Hospital, the Mayo Clinic and Houston Memorial Hospital Baylor UMC.

This isn’t all that Red Phone Booth is doing at their downtown Nashville location. Their safety measures include members only reservations, staggered arrival times, half-capacity, masks and gloves on staff member and social distancing seating. They also have new cleaning protocols in place like frequent sanitizing with MonoFoil-D, a healthcare grade disinfectant. According to the release, “this EPA approve solution bonds to most surfaces providing active disinfecting for 30-60 days.”

“Safety for our guests is of the utmost importance to Red Phone Booth,” founder Stephen de Haan says. “We were already familiar with the latest in air purification because we offer an extensive cigar program. With the installation of the Bipolar Ionization generators and the use of MonoFoil-D, our facility will set the gold standard in guest comfort and safety.”

Red Phone Booth Nashville has adjusted their hours to Thursday through Saturday from 4 PM to 11:45 PM. They do plan on being open to the public as the city reopens for larger capacity.
