I’m Not Afraid of Music Anymore is the forthcoming album from COIN and it shows the band in a vulnerable new light. It’s an album for new and old fans, and it came just when the band thought they were “out of stories to tell.” All the latest music took was a new approach.
COIN’s Chase Lawrence explains, “We wondered, ‘Why is it so difficult to say what you mean and mean what you say? We said, ‘Let’s just make an album where the three of us say what we mean, mean what we say, and distill COIN to its simplest, rawest, most authentic form.’ We led with the truth.”
“We tracked the album live in RCA Studio A after continuing to write together as a band,” Lawrence continues. “We’ve never made an album like that ever. To be honest, I would call this our first studio album… I’m Not Afraid of Music Anymore is about us seeing each other for who we really are and expressing ourselves as individuals— truly for the first time in this band’s history. It’s about us, like conquering fear.”
