CMA Fest events start soon in Nashville and it’s likely it’ll be another hot one. Although it may seem like a challenge, it is possible to stay cool and look cute.
CMA Fest is coming and there’s a ton in store for festival-goers. From fan club parties to live music and everything in between, there is a lot to do. Many of the events are even free!
If this is your first trip to CMA Fest, you may be wondering what the heck to wear. The temperatures (and the music) will be hot but you can look cute while staying cool. We have a few tips to help you prepare.
Leave the Boots Behind
Your cowboy boots may seem like a good idea but they’re just not practical. They’re hot and they’re really not that comfortable, especially when it comes to walking all day. It’s best to throw on a pair of comfy flats. Our personal favorite is this leopard print Steve Madden pair. Your feet won’t hurt after at the end of a long day — and they’re super cute. You also can’t go wrong with a pair of Toms.
If you just can’t part with your favorite boots, wear them for your night festivites. Your feet will thank you!
Wear a Crossbody Bag
Crossbody bags are a godsend when it comes to music festivals. They’re comfortable to wear and just the right size. We’re huge fans of Hobo Bags and they’re all over Nashville. They’re perfect for holding all your goodies during free events but you can’t take them into Nissan Stadium. Familiarize yourself with the stadium’s bag policy before this weekend’s shows.
Bring a Bandana
Jessie James Decker is the queen of bandanas. In her tutorial above, she’ll show you how to wear a bandana in your hair as a country chic headband. You can also wear it around your neck instead of layering on jewelry. Madewell has a really feminine one that would be light enough for a hot summer day.
Denim Duds Don’t Always Mean Jorts
Jorts will be all over CMA Fest but we think it’s best to stand out. Try a denim dress (or skirt) in lieu of denim shorts. We love this denim dress from Blush Boutique. There are several of their boutiques in the Nashville area and they’re all out of the CMA Fest mayhem. Find out more on their Instagram.
T-Shirt Dresses are Terrific
T-shirt dresses are the epitome of comfort and their light material will help you stay cool when the weekend temps get up in the 90s. We love the options Target has in stores. Want to dress it up? Pair it with a long necklace.
…And so are Maxi Dresses
Maxi dresses are great for CMA Fest at night! They’re comfy and casual but not too casual. We’re huge fans of this cut-out wine colored maxi from our friends Maggie Chic Boutique (they even donate to local animal rescues). This dress is even on sale!
Their brown wrap dress is also a great choice for a warm daytime show.
Really Comfy Rompers
Dresses aren’t your thing? Rompers are so easy to wear and incredibly comfortable — if you get the right one. This cactus print romper from Tipsy Elves is perfect for long days at CMA Fest. Don’t be surprised if you get a compliment from an artist while you’re rockin’ this unique pattern.
Want a dressier one for nighttime? We love this velvet one.
Don’t Forget Your Sunnies!
The forecast for CMA Fest 2018 is sun, sun and more sun! Keep your eyes protected and your outfit on point with a cute pair of sunnies. These Cora sunglasses from DressUp are super chic and only $16.99!
