City Winery Nashville Hosts Musical Instrument Drive in December

Starting on Dec. 2, City Winery Nashville is opening its doors for a musical instrument drive, called a musical amnesty. The instruments will be donated to youth in need.

On that day, the urban winery will collect new and lightly used musical instruments and equipment. They need to be in good and working condition. They’ll collect studio hardware include computer recording systems and sound cards, mixing desks, microphones, studio speakers and live equipment. Electric and acoustic instruments, cables and leads laptops, keyboards and drum kits are also needed. You can donate from Dec. 2 through Dec. 5 from 11 AM to 3 PM.

The musical amnesty donations will go to youth growing up in challenging circumstances and conflict zones. They believe that music can positively impact young people by allowing them to escape the hardships they face in their communities. It can also give them a positive outlet for creativity.

All instruments and monetary donations will benefit Cultura y Libertad, located in Medellin Colombia and The Haven, located in South Bronx.

City Winery’s Music Amnesty happens Dec 2nd through 5th from 11 AM to 3 PM. Find out more about the initiative by visiting their website.
