Charles Esten and Julia Cole’s sets turned up the heat when the Every Minute Every Mile Tour stopped at The Plant in Dothan, Ala this weekend.
This was our first time at the venue, which was originally a Coca-Cola bottling facility, so we got there early to see as much as we could. To kick things off, Esten and Cole played an acoustic set along with a Q&A for VIP ticket holders. They each answered questions and opened up about songwriting. “Magicians do magic tricks knowing the magic. Songwriters do magic tricks without knowing the magic,” Esten said while Cole told fans, “I don’t think think it’s possible for me to not write a song!”

Following the VIP session, fans headed outside to catch supporting artist, Jonboy Storey before Esten and Cole hit the stage where, for the next two hours, they wowed fans with original songs, covers, and even a couple of duets including their hit song, “Worst Day.” Despite the heat, and impending storm that electrified the night with some background lightning, Esten and Cole could not have given more energetic, enthusiastic performances! The two even remained after the show to sign greet fans, take selfies and sign autographs.
Although The Plan is a trek from Music City, it’s the perfect venue to catch live music in that area. Consider it on your next road trip to the Gulf Coast or just make a weekend out of it and enjoy the area while taking in some of the other attractions Dothan has to offer!
We’ll definitely be back and can’t wait to catch both Esten and Cole out on the road again soon! Read more about The Plant here.
