Caylee Hammack is once again helping Nashville ring in the new year, this time from a new Broadway location.
During a recent press roundtable, Hammack previewed what viewers can expect from Nashville’s New Year’s Eve Live: Big Bash, which will air live on CBS and Paramount+ from Luke Combs’ Category 10. Hammack, who co-hosted the broadcast last year, returns alongside Cody Alan as the night features performances from Dwight Yoakam and Marcus King.
A New Venue, Familiar Energy
While the broadcast returns with the same co-hosts, Category 10 offers a fresh backdrop for the nationally televised celebration. Hosting from a Broadway bar brings the event closer to the heart of Nashville’s music culture.
“There’s something really special about doing this from an artist’s bar,” Hammack said. “To be standing in a bar on Broadway, ringing in the new year with Dwight Yoakam performing, in a place built on the back of country music — that’s really cool to be a part of.”
Live TV, Unscripted Moments
After navigating the unpredictability of live television last year, Hammack says she feels more comfortable stepping back into the role — even knowing anything can happen once the cameras start rolling.
“Reading off a teleprompter on live TV is no joke,” she said. “That’s where I feel like I grew the most. Last year, I was just hoping I wouldn’t do anything too embarrassing. This year, I’m hoping for the same batting average.”
Behind the scenes, the night is expected to feel loose and social rather than rigidly staged.
“I’m a bit of a wanderer,” Hammack admitted. “If people are asking where I am, I’m probably talking to someone in their dressing room.”
A Nashville Way to Ring in the New Year
Despite the national spotlight, Hammack says the heart of the night remains personal, especially knowing her family will be watching from home.
“They’ll be standing in front of the TV filming it on their iPad and sending me videos,” she said. “Those moments make it really special.”
With a new venue, returning hosts, and performances from Dwight Yoakam and Marcus King, Nashville’s New Year’s Eve Live once again aims to capture the spirit of Music City.
