Cardi B spent her Tuesday morning at SiriusXM to promote her new album, Invasion of Privacy. Although she was there for hew music, she couldn’t avoid a few pregnancy questions.
Cardi B had a busy morning at SiriusXM! She was on both SiriusXM Hits 1 and Shade 45 to talk about her new music. While she was on Hit 1’s Morning Mash Up, she briefly talked about her pregnancy (and how she really thought she could hide it).
“You wanna know something? When it comes to this pregnancy thing, I didn’t really wanted to let people know. I just thought I was going to get away with it,” she says slyly. “I thought I was going to get away with it but like I said, like I named my album, Invasion of Privacy, because people was just invading my privacy… especially while I was doing my album.”
“I felt like I was being low-key. I wasn’t going to a lot of events but for some reason… I just keep seeing it, ‘Cardi’s pregnant. Cardi’s pregnant. Cardi’s pregnant.'”
Eventually, though the “Bodak Yellow” singer realized, “You can only hide it for so long.” She thought this was the “right time” to break the news especially because she’s “almost done with it.”
That’s right, Cardi B is expecting a baby sooner rather than later. She told the SiriusXM hosts she’s due “around the summertime” but she wouldn’t announce the gender of the baby. After all, a girl’s got to have a little privacy.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, Cardi B announced her pregnancy on Saturday Night Live over the weekend. During her second song on the show, she let the camera make the announcement for her. The SNL cameras panned down to show off her adorable baby bump in a custom-made, white Christian Siriano gown.
