Brett Young‘s newest music video is here. His video for “Like I Loved You” is an emotional and heartbreaking, yet beautiful, visual.
Phillip Lopez directed the heartfelt music video in Los Angeles’ scenic Laurel Canyon. The pale, overcast skies and light colors bring the song about unrequited love to life. The California backdrop is perfect for the new clip.
“California is home for me, and it’s where I’ve lived a lot of these lyrics, so it just feels right to shoot the ‘Like I Loved You’ video back there,” he says. “I think just about everyone can identify with this song in some way. Most have us have had our hearts broken a time or two.”
The video is mainly just Young (which female fans will be happy about) singing about an ex-lover that doesn’t feel the same way. He’s alone in his gorgeous home and then he’s drinking at a bar but it’s the last few seconds that’ll really hit you in the feels.
“Like I Loved You” is Young’s third single from his debut album and, so far, it’s a hit on country radio. If this song follows in the footsteps of his first two singles, he could have another No. 1 on his hands. He recently celebrated his second No. 1 single, “In Case You Didn’t Know” at FGL House in Nashville. He gave a speech and, during it, he gushed about how he’s “living a dream.” Watch the full speech here.
