Brett Young just announced something big — and I, for one, cannot wait. He’s back with his fourth studio album, 2.0, set to drop on June 13 via Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment. This next chapter blends the California cool we’ve come to love from Brett with a more traditional country vibe, complete with banjo, pedal steel, and mandolin.
2.0 is shaping up to be a deeply personal release for Brett, reflecting his growth not just as an artist but also as a husband, father, and storyteller. He co-wrote tracks with some of Nashville’s best and the result is a collection that’s both emotionally rich and sonically refreshing.
“It’s always my goal to be real and transparent and connect with my audience, whether that means writing a song about what happened yesterday or revisiting past experiences,” he says. “It should always be about a connection with the listeners. 2.0 feels really special to me, and I’m very proud of it. I hope it makes people want to come out and see the live show even more.”
One of the most exciting collaborations on the album is “Who I Do It For” featuring Lady A, a heartstring-tugging track inspired by family. Fans can also expect a reimagined version of his mega-hit “In Case You Didn’t Know,” this time as a duet with rising artist Hannah McFarland. Another standout is “Full House,” which paints a touching picture of what it feels like to welcome a child into the world.
Before the album lands in June, Brett’s giving fans a taste of what’s to come with the brand-new single “Drink With You.” Hitting country radio on April 10 and streaming platforms the following day, the pedal steel-laced track explores the tension between old flames and good intentions. Co-written with Jesse Frasure, Tony Lucca, and Emily Weisband, it’s one of those songs that hits you in the gut — in the best way.
