Brad Paisley lit up the room at Fender’s Nashville headquarters with the unveiling of his brand-new signature guitar: the Limited Edition Brad Paisley 1967 “Lost Paisley” Telecaster. A collaboration between Paisley and Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC), the guitar is both a tribute to a psychedelic-era classic and a testament to modern craftsmanship.
At the event, Paisley demonstrated the powerful tone and playability of the new Tele with help from his band and fellow country artist Steve Wariner. The energy was electric as Paisley jammed out on the guitar he helped bring to life.
“From the very beginning there has always been a pattern following me, from the moment they wrote my last name on my birth certificate. It’s unreal that my own name is one of the coolest finishes I think Fender has ever done,” he gushes. “This is an attempt to show what this lost color could have been. It’s the best guitar I’ve ever had.”
It was an honor to be on hand for this event, where we got to hear the passion that went into making the guitar came out in its sound. It was honestly just fun to watch Paisley jam out on a guitar that he was so instrumental in creating. He looked like Charlie after winning the chocolate factory, completely on top of the world.
The “Lost Paisley” Telecaster revives Fender’s rare and eye-catching Blue Paisley finish, originally introduced in the late 1960s. He was gifted original Blue Paisley Cling-Foil from that era and, with help from longtime collaborators Zac Childs and Joe Glaser, set out to restore one of his vintage Telecasters and recreate the lost art.
The result is a limited run of just 86 guitars. Sixty seven of those were made by Fender’s Custom Shop in Corona, California, and an exclusive 19 hand-built by Paisley himself in partnership with Fender’s Nashville R&D team. These 19 will be available only through Paisley’s own channels.
With a lightweight body built from a blend of alder, paulownia, and spruce, and featuring hand-wound pickups and a Glaser “G” Bender system, the “Lost Paisley” is as performance-ready as it is collectible. Each guitar comes in a vintage-style case with a period-correct strap and certificate of authenticity.
