‘Book of Mormon’ Returns to TPAC, Delivers More Raucous Laughter

The Book of Mormon is back at TPAC for a third time through March 17.

This musical is still as offensive, profane and hilarious as ever. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart but that’s to be expected, after all, the show comes from the minds behind South Park. Trey Parker and Matt Stone, of the adult animated comedy, joined forces with Robert Lopez to create this show.

The nine-time Tony Award-winning show follows two mismatched missionaries who get themselves into some pretty outrageous misadventures when they’re sent to Africa for their two-year mission. Elder Price (Liam Tobin) and Elder Cunningham (Conner Peirson) are sent to join their fellow missionaries to baptize the townspeople. Elder Price’s selfish attitude gets in the way and it’s the goofy Elder Cunningham that must save the day. We won’t give anything away but we will tell you that Peirson steals the show while in character.

The Book of Mormon is great for anyone looking to laugh — with thick skin. If you’re easily offended, triggered by foul language and sexual innuendos then this is not the show for you. If you’re looking for a hilarious date night, a great girl’s night out that includes tons of laughing or just a show that will bring you to tears, this is the show for you.

The comedy-musical is at TPAC’s Andrew Jackson Hall through March 17. Tickets are available through TPAC’s official website but they’re also offering a lottery prior to the show. Find out more about the lottery here.
