Angelina Jolie is, and always has been, a powerhouse actress. She’s a force to be reckoned with and most recently, she returned to the big screen (and HBO Max) with Those Who Wish Me Dead. Those Who Wish Me Dead (HBO Max)
IMDB: “A teenage murder witness finds himself pursued by twin assassins in the Montana wilderness with a survival expert tasked with protecting him — and a forest fire threatening to consume them all.” Jolie shines in this one as she tries to save the day.
Salt (Hulu)
Outside of Taking Lives, this is my favorite Jolie performance. She plays a CIA officer being hunted after being accused of being a Russian spy. She kicks ass throughout this entire film. If you haven’t watched it, you’re in for a real treat.
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (Disney+)
Some people forget about Jolie’s fantastic turn in the live-action version of Maleficent. While the sequel didn’t live up to the original, she still manages to bring the character to life in a way that only she can.
Gia (HBO Max)
Gia was the movie that really put the California native on the map. She won both a Golden Globe and SAG Award for her performance as Gia Carangi, one of the first supermodels. This performance is emotional, raw and riveting.
Changeling (Hulu)
IMDB: “Grief-stricken mother Christine Collins (Angelina Jolie) takes on the L.A.P.D. to her own detriment when it tries to pass off an obvious impostor as her missing child.” Although this one’s reviews are a mix, I think it’s yet another worthwhile Jolie watch.
