This is great news for your Thursday! The Belcourt, our favorite nonprofit film center, is reopening! They made the big announcement across their social media platforms on Thursday (April 8).
The theatre is slated to open on April 23 and the reopening schedule includes two films. The first is Street Gang: How We Got to Sesame Street, a new documentary that Nashville Noise screened during Sundance Film Festival. The second is a Japanese anime film called Demon Slayer: Mugen Train. According to their social media post, the films are being released nationally on April 23 for in-theater screenings only.
If you’re interested in seeing either of those, tickets go on sale April 9 at 10 AM CST. They will have limited seating so advance purchases are recommended. The Belcourt will also require masks “and other comprehensive health and safety precautions will be in place. Films will be shown in the theatreās two first-floor halls; the second floor and its screening room will remain closed to the public.”
Stay tuned for more from The Belcourt including their May lineup, which will be announced soon.
