Reba McEntire, Loretta Lynn and More Remember Barbara Bush

When news broke that Barbara Bush died on Tuesday night, celebrities and singers took to social media to pay their respects.

According to the New York Times, Bush died on Tuesday evening at her home in Houston at the age of 92. The news broke on Twitter thanks to Jim McGrath, the family’s spokesman. This news came just days after Bush decided to focus on her comfort and no longer seek medical treatment.

Once the news spread on social media, the former first lady’s name was a trending topic. Tons of people including celebrities and singers took to social media to share memories of Bush. Reba McEntire called her “one-of-a-kind” while Loretta Lynn said, “America has lost a treasure and I’ve lost a dear friend.”

I had the opportunity to meet former First Lady Barbara Bush at a charity event in Houston a couple of years ago. From my heart, I can honestly say it was, and will remain, one of the greatest moments of my life. May we all take the time to read as much as we can to learn about her many contributions.
