Bad Boys for Life is the third installment in the action franchise, Bad Boys. This new installation sees dynamic duo Will Smith (Mike Lowrey) and Martin Lawrence (Marcus Burnett) back together for one last mission.
Bad Boys for Life is, as you would expect, jam-packed with over the top action. There are also hilarious one-liners that keep you entertained, and laughing, throughout. More surprising, though, was the impressive writing in this movie. Lowrey is known for being a cocky, arrogant man but we see another side of him in this film. In this one, we see his vulnerable side which is something we’ve never really seen before. His character development was a huge highlight that made this film what it was.
This newest addition also included some new cast additions including Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig and Charles Melton. Each of their characters brought something fresh to the film, including some kick-ass sequences that we’re used to only seeing from the leading men.
We checked out Bad Boys for Life on opening weekend — in 4DX. Seeing it in that format was pretty wild. The movie starts with an intense car ride that puts the attendees in the driver seat. As Lowrey takes the twists and turns, we ride along with our seats moving and shaking. If that doesn’t sound intense, just imagine the popcorn flying through the air as everyone rode along (because trust us, that happened).
In short, this film is action-packed but it’s so much more than that. It’s a great story with some hilarious laughs. I highly recommend seeing this one in theaters, especially if you can shell out a few more dollars for the complete 4DX experience.
Nashville Noise has seen several films in 4DX and this one utilized it to perfection. Bad Boys for Life is in theaters now. If you’re in Nashville, you can check it out in 4DX at Regal Opry Mills. Find movie times here.
I’ve got some catching up to do, I haven’t seen any of these movies, or been to a 4dx theater!
