Between movie theaters, VOD, Redbox, Netflix and the rest of the streaming platforms, a lot of content dropped this week. I went through and found some of the best options you can watch this weekend.
Belcourt
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Starting this Saturday night, the Belcourt is playing the 1982 classic Fast Times at Ridgemont High. There’s nothing like seeing one of these “old school” movies on the big screen. But there are only three showings so get your tickets soon!
In Theaters
Candyman
Up and coming writer/director Nia DaCosta has made her mark in the film world! I can’t wait to see what she does with this film! The cast is stacked and then add in Jordan Peele’s help on the screenplay, this one is sure to be a win. If you see it, tweet us and let us know your thoughts.
Flag Day
IMDB: “A father lives a double life as a counterfeiter, bank robber and con man in order to provide for his daughter.”
Netflix
He’s All That
Netflix is reimagining the 90’s classic, She’s All That, with their new version called He’s All That. This is the feature film debut of TikTok star Addison Rae and it’s directed by Mean Girls director Mark Waters. It will be interesting to see if they can capture the magic that Freddie Prinze Jr. and Rachael Lee Cook made in the original.
Hulu
Vacation Friends
Lil Rel Howery is having a fantastic year. In his newest role, he stars next to John Cena in the comedy Vacation Friends. You can tell by the trailer that it’s a fun time so if you’re looking for a party without leaving your house, check this one out on Hulu.
