April 13 is National Peach Cobbler day! While we were looking for the perfect recipe to share, we came across Aretha Franklin’s Peach Cobbler over at Food Network. The dessert has over 100 reviews and five stars so we’re giving it a try.
Franklin’s peach cobbler is considered an intermediate recipe and will take you about an hour to make, including prep work. Don’t let that deter you, though. For this recipe, they use store bought pie dough (thank you, Aretha!) and, of course, recommend vanilla ice cream for serving.
You’ll need canned peaches, butter, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, breadcrumbs, flour and the dough. Don’t forget your cooking spray to keep things from sticking and your favorite vanilla ice cream to serve on top! It’s always best when it’s hot and fresh but this will keep for days and you can just pop it in the microwave for a little warmth.
