CMT and mtheory’s Equal Access, one of the music industry’s leading artist and management equity initiatives, is accepting applications for its 2024-25 program. Now entering its third year, the acclaimed effort is designed to foster and support marginalized communities that are underrepresented in the country music genre.

The Equal Access curriculum works intensively with select artists and management professionals and provides them with funding, training, and support via mtheory’s management services, allowing them to navigate and grow within the country music industry. Current and past members of Equal Access include artists Angie K, Camille ParkerDenitiaMadeline Edwards, Miko Marks and Valerie Ponzio; and music management professionals Ahsaki LaFrance Chachere, Alex EvelynRoberto MartinezCharlene Bryant, Kadeem Phillips and Marques Vance.  

The launch of Equal Access was first announced live on-stage at the 2022 CMT Music Awards by CBS News’ Gayle King, who called the new effort “a bold commitment towards ensuring an inclusive future for all voices in country music.” CMT returns as the program’s Title Sponsor and will announce the Equal Access 2024-25 cohort in conjunction with the 2024 CMT Music Awards in April.
