Lauren Davidson’s All-Female Anti-Valentine’s Day Playlist is Here!

Not everyone feels all lovey-dovey on Feb. 14 and that’s ok. If you’re more Anti-Valentine’s Day, we have the perfect playlist for you from country singer Lauren Davidson.

Davidson dropped her song, “Love Ain’t Fair,” just in time for Valentine’s Day.

“I’m really excited to finally get this song out into the universe. I knew that I wanted to release a lot of new music this year and started slowly working in the studio with my producing partners Cristian Castro & Dave Ricco,” she says. “When we realized all of these songs had a common theme of love in the non-traditional sense I then knew I also wanted this track to be the title track of the EP. These are all songs centered around love — finding love, losing love, loving yourself and to me, this song ‘Love Ain’t Fair’ was the perfect first single.”

Her Anti-Valentine’s Day playlist starts with this new song and several other songs from empowered women. If you can’t tell, Davidson isn’t a huge fan of the “greeting card holiday” and it’s not because she’s bitter.

“I’m not going to lie, I’ve never been a huge fan of Valentine’s Day — whether I’m in a relationship or not. I don’t love the pressure people feel tied to this day which is why I wanted to release this song. If you’re in love you find days special to that relationship and if you’re not you shouldn’t feel bad about that. This song being released on Valentine’s Day is meant to put light on the holiday because sometimes love just isn’t fair — and that’s ok!”
