Nashville’s independent music community had its moment in the spotlight as the Association for Independent Music Publishers (AIMP) hosted the 2026 AIMP Nashville Country Awards at Analog inside the Hutton Hotel.
The invite-only event, hosted by longtime radio personality Storme Warren, brought together some of the city’s most respected songwriters, publishers, and artists for a night dedicated entirely to independently published country music. Unlike many industry award shows, this one keeps the focus tight—honoring the songs and creatives operating outside of major publishing systems while still shaping the sound of Nashville.
AIMP co-chairs Ree Guyer and Courtney Crist emphasized the collaborative spirit that defines the independent side of the industry, noting how the event reflects the close-knit nature of the community behind so many of today’s biggest songs.
Live performances once again played a central role in the evening, giving attendees a more personal connection to the music being honored. The Publisher’s Pick, “Come Home To You,” was performed by Tigirlily Gold, while Song of the Year “Weren’t For The Wind” was brought to life on stage by Carly Pearce.
Beyond the performances, the night celebrated a wide range of talent across the independent publishing world, from rising voices to established hitmakers. Industry veteran Lee Krabel of SMACKSongs was also recognized with the AIMP Song Champion Award, highlighting his long-standing contributions to Nashville’s songwriting community.
The annual event continues to serve as a reminder that some of country music’s biggest moments start in smaller rooms—with independent creators leading the way.
