The Smithville police department completed their lip sync challenge with some familiar faces.
For their video, the police department recruited not one, but two famous locals. Aaron Tippin and John Anderson joined in the fun. Tippin and the officers lip sync to Tippin’s “There Ain’t Nothin’ Wrong with the Radio” while Anderson joined in for “Swingin.”
“It was such a thrill to be asked to be in the Smithville Police Department’s video,” Tippin says. “We had a blast filming it. We love our law enforcement and appreciate them so much. I’m ready to do a sequel!”
“Smithville has been my home for the past 35 years, and some of these officers are 2nd and 3rd generation now,” Anderson adds. “They do so much and don’t often get recognized for their hard work and commitment to our community. I was proud to help out and hold up traffic on their behalf.”
The officer lip sync challenge has been all over social media for a while now and this video is the newest one from our state. Since it was posted, it’s garnered more than 30K views on YouTube and more than 101K on Facebook.
Along with the video, the police department is asking viewers to donate to Cops for Kids, their charity initiative. The charity is a non-profit that helps less fortunate children in DeKalb County get gifts for Christmas.
