The Academy of Country Music just announced they will postpone the 55th ACM Awards amid growing concerns of the Coronavirus pandemic. The awards were originally scheduled for April 5 at the Las Vegas MGM Grand Garden Arena. A new date, time and venue have not been determined yet.
“The ACM Awards is a tentpole event for our country music industry and the Academy of Country Music and Dick Clark productions went to great lengths to find a safe solution for the show to go on so that we can honor our artist community,” Damon Whiteside, CEO of the Academy of Country Music, said in a release. “This decision involved many partners, stakeholders and the industry who we have been in constant conversations with over the past several days as the situation has developed. We look forward to identifying a future date that we can celebrate with our country community safely.”
They will be issuing refunds for tickets that were purchased for the ACM Awards and the ACM Party for a Cause events. Stay tuned to the ACM website and their social accounts for more information on that.
