That funky little East Nashville intersection, Five Points, has a new casual eatery and watering hole in 5 Points Diner and Bar. They’re set to open May 21 and we tried it early to give you a tasty preview.

5 Points Diner and Bar sports a full menu of beer and cocktails and I started with their classic margarita. When it comes to a marg, I need to taste the tequila. This one delivers without being overpowering.
I also tried another one of their signature drinks, the it Ain’t Easy Being Squeezy. This light, refreshing drink is made with Absolut Citron and will definitely be a summer favorite.
As far as food, we started with their amazing deviled eggs. The eggs themselves contain a bit of pimento cheese topped with candied bacon and pickled onion. These are delicious and have such a unique flavor!
We also tried the meatloaf sliders, which were a delicious bite and a fun spin on a classic. They were served with fries three ways, which were a standout. The classic, parmesan truffle, and cajun fries came with a trio of sauces avocado ranch, garlic aioli, and ketchup).
5 Points Diner is a fun, open, and inviting space that is destined to be a neighborhood hangout and entice many to cross the river. I, for one, will be back.
