2018 ACM Awards: Jason Aldean + More Open Show with Message to Vegas

The 2018 ACM Awards opened with a powerful moment from some of country’s biggest stars. Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan and more gathered to speak to the Vegas survivors.

As the show opened, Aldean was seen dimly light on the stage — obviously with a serious message. He said they wanted to figure out what to open the show with but one song was just not enough. After all, they wanted to sum up what it was like for the country family to be back in Vegas. Lambert then was shown on screen reiterating his words and adding that we’re all united through music.

“Music helps us remember what really matters in life,” Bryan added before Maren Morris joined in. She said that music “inspires us, it soothes us and it makes us stronger.” Thomas Rhett also uttered similar sentiments before they all stood together.

“We celebrate the music tonight. America, this is your ACM Awards,” Aldean said in closing. Watch the full video below.

Following the important statements from these superstars, Reba McEntire got the show underway. That’s not all we’ll hear about the Route 91 Harvest Festival survivors, though.
