The 1975 just dropped “Me & You Together Song” from their forthcoming album, Notes on a Conditional Form. The record was originally supposed to be released in late 2019 but the band wanted it to be perfect and, thus, pushed it back to April 24.
This song is the fourth track on the 22-song album which includes previously released “Frail State of Mind” and “People.” This one is an upbeat “bop” as fans are calling it (and I agree). The Manchester-based band stopped by BBC’s Radio 1 to perform it live for the first today. While they were there, lead singer Matty Healy discussed how he typically likes juxtaposition in songs. He’ll pair sad lyrics with a happy beat or vice versa. This track isn’t like that, though.
“This is just kind of straight-up vibin’,” he said in their interview after the performance.
“I’ve been in love with her for ages, and I can’t seem to get it right. I fell in love with her in stages, my whole life,” he sings.
The full record drops on April 24 (officially) via Dirty Hit and Polydor Records. Just a few days later, The 1975 will embark on a North American tour in support of the album. It kicks off in Houston on April 27. Although there’s no Nashville date, the Duluth, Georgia date is just a road trip away. Phoebe Bridgers and Beabadoobee will provide support.

According to their fan mail, all of the “general admission and best seats” will be available during the pre-sale. Also, in a really cool move, The 1975 will plant a tree for every ticket sold.
